WHAT WE
BELIEVE

Our Beliefs

Bible
We believe that the Bible is the written Word of God and has the authority to command our beliefs and actions. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 19:7-11)
One God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Jesus the Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only One who can reconcile us to God. Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, was born of a virgin and is both fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. (John 1:1-4; Colossians 1:15-20)
Humanity
We believe that all people are loved by God, bear His image and reflect God’s glory, and are in need of salvation. (John 3:16; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12)
The Reality of Sin
We believe that all that is wrong in the world is sourced in sin, which has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. The penalty for sin is death, and can only be remedied through God’s redemptive work. (Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-10; Romans 5:8)
Salvation
We believe that we can have a right relationship with God by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, receiving forgiveness and ‘new birth’ through repentance from our sins. Only by trusting in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone can we be reconciled to God and experience true life and joy. (John 3:16-17; Romans 3:21-26; 1 Timothy 2:5-6)
Eternity
We believe that Jesus is returning to judge all human beings and to establish God’s eternal kingdom forever. We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 14:3; Acts 17:30-31; Matthew 25:31-36)
The Church
We affirm that the church is the body of Christ, and that Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are people who have trusted, by faith, in the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to the lost world. (2 Corinthians 5:17-20; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Acts 1:6-8)
Biblical Community
We affirm that God intends for us to live out our faith in an interdependent community. (Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 12:12-17)

Identity in Christ
We affirm that we find fulfillment and wholeness as an adopted child of God. (Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 1:3-14)
Ordinances of the Church
We affirm that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord's Supper. We affirm that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We affirm that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We affirm that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38-41; Matthew 28:19-20; Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
