Group Discussion Guide
Family By Design, Part 4
This guide is designed to help your group create a space for genuine connection and conversation within your discussion time. Don't feel pressured to address every question each week. Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you as you lead your group in uncovering what God intends to communicate during your time together.
This guide comprises three sections: Loving, Learning, and Living. Each section aims to steer your conversation towards meaningful discussions about spiritual growth as individuals and as members of the body of Christ.

LOVING
First moments together as a group to connect and pray (approx. 10-15 min).
Open with prayer and invite God to be part of your conversation and relationship.
- How have you seen God at work in your life since the last time we met?
- What has been one high and one low since the last time we met?
- How did you do with living out what we talked about last time we met?
Open with prayer and invite God to be part of your conversation and relationship.
LEARNING
The majority of the group discussion is devoted to open dialogue, reflecting on God’s Word and its personal application to each of our lives (approx. 60-75 min).
Scripture References from Message: Titus 2:1-8
Big Idea from Message: Church is not something you go to, it’s a family where we belong.
Is it easy or difficult for you to see the church as a family of God’s people? Why do you think you feel this way?
In this part of the text, the verb for “speak/teach” in v. 1 is meant to extend into the rest of the writing, meaning that roles and actions of each person being mentioned are to be directly shaped by the “sound/right doctrine” being spoken by Titus to the community of Jesus followers. Why do you think it is so important for Paul to tie together right doctrine (belief) with rightly ordered relationships and actions within the Christian community?
As you read the passage, notice that the qualities Paul lifts up for each person/role within the community are things that must be lived out in relationship with others. Why is this significant? Do you see any recurring themes within the qualities he names?
What is one way you are currently engaging with the family of God here at BridgePoint? Is there a step deeper into the life of this family that you’ve been avoiding but feel God leading you to take?

LIVING
The challenge for the week ahead is to grow in our faith and lovingly hold each other accountable through the community.
This week, spend time drilling down into your role as a part of the family of God at BridgePoint Church and your specific campus. Ask yourself a few questions:
After you’ve taken some time to reflect, be sure to take all you’ve thought to God in prayer and even dedicate some space to thank him for this faith family and what it has meant to your journey of following Jesus. If a particular person at BridgePoint has been a big part of your journey of faith, reach out to them and let them know how God has used them to help you find your place in this faith family.

- What role am I in?
- Who am I serving and loving well in this role?
- Is there a different role I feel God is calling me to take on?
- Who do I know that isn’t a part of this family that I need to invite to take a step toward community this week?
