KidsPoint Devotional: (April Week 4)

BLOOM (Birth-Kindergarten)
This month in Bloom, we are learning what it means to be rooted in God and build a firm foundation in Christ. This month’s memory verse is, “Have your roots in Him. Grow strong in what you believe, just as you were taught.” Colossians 3:7a

This past Sunday (April 26th), we learned about how important it is to stay connected to Jesus. We read the story of the vine and the branches. We learned that in order to grow strong and produce good fruit, we must stay connected to Jesus like a branch to a tree. We can stay connected to Jesus by praying, reading our Bible, and being in community with others.

We encourage you to read John 15:1-8 with your kids and discuss the following questions.

  • What do plants need to grow strong?
  • Plants that are strong can grow good fruit. Having fruit means doing good things – what are some good things we can do to show others that we love Jesus?
  • How can you grow strong in God?

We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.

UPSTREET/ROUTE45(1st-5th Grade)
This month in Upstreet, we are learning what it means to be rooted in God and build a firm foundation in Christ.

If we aren’t rooted in Jesus, we are like a branch that falls off a tree and dies. We discussed that we can stay connected to Jesus by praying, reading our Bible, and being in community with others.

We encourage you to read John 15:1-8 with your kids and discuss the following questions.

  • Why is it important to stay rooted or connected to God?
  • What does it mean to have good fruit? What are some examples of good fruit in your life?
  • What are some bad fruits that might show if we are not rooted in God?
  • Are there any fruits you need help growing or getting rid of in your life?

We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.

A note from the KidsPoint team.

Hello Parents!

We are so excited for all that God has in store for us this year, not only in KidsPoint but as a whole at BridgePoint. We believe that our kids are vital to the mission of our church, as well as the future of our communities. As part of our vision for this year, we want to partner with you, parents, to help incorporate more biblical practices in the daily life of our kids. We want to be intentional in teaching our kids how to take real ownership of their relationship with God and we believe that begins in your home.

Starting this year, KidsPoint is sending out weekly devotions and discussion questions for you and your kids. These devotions will be short but they will coincide with what your child is currently learning in KidsPoint. We encourage you to take some time throughout the week to sit down with your kids and discuss what God is teaching them and how they can apply it to their everyday life. This could be at the dinner table, in the car on the way to a sports game/practice, or even before bed. Our hope is that these devotions will assist you in helping foster your child’s relationship with God every day, as well as challenge them to dig deeper into their faith and in God’s word.

We look forward to all God has in store for you and your kids as well as our entire church family!

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Sincerely,

The KidsPoint Team
