KidsPoint Devotional: (August Week 3)
BLOOM (Birth-Kindergarten)
This month in Bloom, we are talking about how God made everything! Our memory verse for the month of August is “God saw everything He had made. And it was very good.” Genesis 1:31, NIrV.
This past Sunday (August 17th), we read the part of the creation story when God created the sun, moon and stars. We discussed how God made EVERYTHING! All of the things we can see and all of the things we can’t see! We talked about how if God made EVERYTHING then we can trust Him with anything!
We encourage you to read Genesis 1:14-19 with your kids and discuss the following questions.
We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.
UPSTREET (1st-5th Grade)
This month in UpStreet, we are talking about having faith and trusting in God’s story for us. Our memory verse for this month is “Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being sure of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 NIrV
This past Sunday (August 17th), we read about Abraham and Sarah. We learned that sometimes God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we think He should. Sometimes God promises us certain things but makes us wait. We discussed that God always knows what’s best for us and He loves us too much to give us anything but the best. Therefore, we should not lean on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Even though something may seem impossible, we must continue to trust God and obey Him in the waiting.
We encourage you to read Genesis 12:1-9; 15:1-; 21:1-2 with your kids and discuss the following questions.
We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.

- Can you name some things that God created and put in the sky?
- What things make you think of day and what things make you think of night?
- How do you feel knowing that God created all the stars in the sky AND He created you too?
We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.

- What does it look like to trust God?
- What is something you are facing that seems impossible? How can the story of Abraham and Sarah encourage you to keep trusting God?
We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.

A note from the KidsPoint team.
Hello Parents!
We are so excited for all that God has in store for us this year, not only in KidsPoint but as a whole at BridgePoint. We believe that our kids are vital to the mission of our church, as well as the future of our communities. As part of our vision for this year, we want to partner with you, parents, to help incorporate more biblical practices in the daily life of our kids. We want to be intentional in teaching our kids how to take real ownership of their relationship with God and we believe that begins in your home.
Starting this year, KidsPoint is sending out weekly devotions and discussion questions for you and your kids. These devotions will be short but they will coincide with what your child is currently learning in KidsPoint. We encourage you to take some time throughout the week to sit down with your kids and discuss what God is teaching them and how they can apply it to their everyday life. This could be at the dinner table, in the car on the way to a sports game/practice, or even before bed. Our hope is that these devotions will assist you in helping foster your child’s relationship with God every day, as well as challenge them to dig deeper into their faith and in God’s word.
We look forward to all God has in store for you and your kids as well as our entire church family!
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Sincerely,
The KidsPoint Team
