KidsPoint Devotional: (May Week 4)
BLOOM (Birth-Kindergarten)
This month in Bloom, we are talking about how God helps us do BIG things! Our memory verse for the month of April is “I know that God helps me.” Psalm 54:4, NIV
This past Sunday (May 25th), we talked about Nehemiah rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem. We talked about how God asked Nehemiah to do this BIG task even when other people around him discouraged him. Nehemiah knew this was going to be a HARD task but he was obedient and trusted God and God used Nehemiah to do something BIG!
We encourage you to read Nehemiah 1:2-4; 2:2-5; 2:11-18 with your kids and discuss the following questions.
We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.
UPSTREET (1st-5th Grade)
This month in UpStreet, we are talking about taking initiative and taking care of the needs of others. Our memory verse for this month is “None of you should look out just for your own good. Each of you should also look out for the good of others.” Philippians 2:4, NIrV
This past Sunday (May 25th), we talked about some of the first Disciples that started following Jesus. We discussed how they KNEW Jesus was the Messiah not only because of many prophecies He fulfilled, but by the way He lived and how He loved others. We talked about how everywhere Jesus went, people were changed! We also discussed how to tell others about the good news of Jesus.
We encourage you to read John 1:35-45 with your kids and discuss the following questions.
We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.

- How do you think Nehemiah felt when he saw the broken wall?
- Why is it good to take care of our homes, schools, churches?
- Nehemiah was surrounded by people who did not want him to rebuild the wall. Some people even threatened to hurt him if he rebuilt the wall. Still, Nehemiah obeyed God. How can you be brave like Nehemiah?
We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.

- Teach your parents the “5 Finger Gospel” that we learned on Sunday.
- John and Andrew knew there was something different about Jesus that set Him apart from others. How can we live in a way that other people see Jesus in us?
- Everywhere Jesus went, people were changed for the better. How can we be like Jesus and leave a positive impact wherever we go?
We encourage you to pray with your child after devotion.

A note from the KidsPoint team.
Hello Parents!
We are so excited for all that God has in store for us this year, not only in KidsPoint but as a whole at BridgePoint. We believe that our kids are vital to the mission of our church, as well as the future of our communities. As part of our vision for this year, we want to partner with you, parents, to help incorporate more biblical practices in the daily life of our kids. We want to be intentional in teaching our kids how to take real ownership of their relationship with God and we believe that begins in your home.
Starting this year, KidsPoint is sending out weekly devotions and discussion questions for you and your kids. These devotions will be short but they will coincide with what your child is currently learning in KidsPoint. We encourage you to take some time throughout the week to sit down with your kids and discuss what God is teaching them and how they can apply it to their everyday life. This could be at the dinner table, in the car on the way to a sports game/practice, or even before bed. Our hope is that these devotions will assist you in helping foster your child’s relationship with God every day, as well as challenge them to dig deeper into their faith and in God’s word.
We look forward to all God has in store for you and your kids as well as our entire church family!
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Sincerely,
The KidsPoint Team
