Group Discussion Guide
Life Together, Part 3
This guide is designed to help your group create a space for genuine connection and conversation within your discussion time. Don't feel pressured to address every question each week. Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you as you lead your group in uncovering what God intends to communicate during your time together.
This guide comprises three sections: Loving, Learning, and Living. Each section aims to steer your conversation towards meaningful discussions about spiritual growth as individuals and as members of the body of Christ.

LOVING
First moments together as a group to connect and pray (approx. 10-15 min).
Open with prayer and invite God to be part of your conversation and relationship.
- How have you seen God at work in your life since the last time we met?
- What has been one high and one low since the last time we met?
- How did you do with living out what we talked about last time we met?
Open with prayer and invite God to be part of your conversation and relationship.
LEARNING
The majority of the group discussion is devoted to open dialogue, reflecting on God’s Word and its personal application to each of our lives (approx. 60-75 min).
Scripture References from Message: Psalm 133:1; Galatians 6:2; Ephesians 4:1b-3; Luke 9:23
Big Idea from Message: Christian community is both proximity and process.
Community, or Life Together, is God’s design for His church to grow and impact His creation. Read Psalm 133:1, Galatians 6:2, and Ephesians 4:1-3 as a group. Reflect on the intent of community described in these verses. What specific actions and attitudes contribute to the kind of unity discussed in these scriptures?
In John 17:20-23, Jesus prays for unity among all believers, including us today. How does Jesus’ death on the cross emphasize the importance of unity among His people? How does His sacrifice provide a model for the sacrifices needed to maintain unity in Christian community?
Consider the cake analogy shared in the message. Individual ingredients may seem unappealing, but together, they create something greater. Similarly, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 describes the body of Christ as made up of many vital parts. How does this analogy and passage shape your understanding of the importance of every person’s involvement in Christian community? What happens to the body of Christ when one member chooses not to contribute? How does this challenge a consumer mindset toward church?
Reflect on your own spiritual growth. Is there someone in your life who challenges you spiritually? How can you invite more accountability into your walk with Christ?

LIVING
This week, take time to reflect and pray on the question: “What unique gifts or abilities has God given me to bless others in my community? How can I begin using them more fully?” Spend 10-15 minutes daily meditating on this and ask God to reveal where you can contribute. Then take one tangible step to use your gifts, such as encouraging someone, volunteering, or starting a conversation about serving. Be ready to share next week how God is guiding you and the actions you took to bless others.
