Group Discussion Guide
Rhythms, Part 3
This guide is designed to help your group create a space for genuine connection and conversation within your discussion time. Don't feel pressured to address every question each week. Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you as you lead your group in uncovering what God intends to communicate during your time together.
This guide comprises three sections: Loving, Learning, and Living. Each section aims to steer your conversation towards meaningful discussions about spiritual growth as individuals and as members of the body of Christ.

LOVING
First moments together as a group to connect and pray (approx. 10-15 min).
Open with prayer and invite God to be part of your conversation and relationship.
- How have you seen God at work in your life since the last time we met?
- What has been one high and one low since the last time we met?
- How did you do with living out what we talked about last time we met?
Open with prayer and invite God to be part of your conversation and relationship.
LEARNING
Scripture References from Message: Psalm 119:1-16, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Big Idea: To live in the rhythms of Jesus, we must listen to His voice and obey.
Big Idea: To live in the rhythms of Jesus, we must listen to His voice and obey.
Start with this: We live in a world filled with constant noise—phones, notifications, busy schedules. Take a moment to reflect: what’s the loudest voice in your life right now? How do you think that noise affects your ability to hear from God?
Read John 10:27 — “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” Jesus describes a close, ongoing relationship with His followers. What does it mean to you personally to “hear His voice”? What makes that difficult in your current season?
Going deeper: What do you do and how do you do it to hear from God? How do you discern what is God’s voice and what is a distraction or our own desire? (refer to Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, John 14:26, and Romans 10:17)
Read Psalm 119:9–16. David calls God’s Word a source of blessing and guidance. What would it look like for you to move from simply reading Scripture to truly listening for God through it? What rhythms could help make that real this week?
Tyler mentioned that we often treat faith like an “event-driven experience.” How can we shift toward a daily, conversational relationship with God instead? What practices—like prayer, silence, journaling, or community—help you stay in rhythm with Him?
Going deeper: Practice the Lectio Divina (reading, meditating, prayer, contemplation) together as a group. Create a space for people to work through these steps together. Below is an example:

Going deeper: Practice the Lectio Divina (reading, meditating, prayer, contemplation) together as a group. Create a space for people to work through these steps together. Below is an example:
- Silence (1 min):
- Read Isaiah 40:29-31 (3 times, with 1 min silence between each reading)
- Prayer (silently or together)
- Contemplation (write down that which has been revealed to you in this time
LIVING
The challenge for the week ahead is to grow in our faith and lovingly hold each other accountable through the community.
Practice Lectio Divina each morning this week. Choose a short passage (Psalm 119:9–16 or John 10:27–30), read it slowly several times, and pause after each reading to ask,
Write down what you hear and close your time in prayer, thanking God for speaking through His Word.
