Group Discussion Guide
Storyline, Part 3
This guide is designed to help your group create a space for genuine connection and conversation within your discussion time. Don't feel pressured to address every question each week. Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you as you lead your group in uncovering what God intends to communicate during your time together.
This guide comprises three sections: Loving, Learning, and Living. Each section aims to steer your conversation towards meaningful discussions about spiritual growth as individuals and as members of the body of Christ.

LOVING
First moments together as a group to connect and pray (approx. 10-15 min).
Open with prayer and invite God to be part of your conversation and relationship.
- How have you seen God at work in your life since the last time we met?
- What has been one high and one low since the last time we met?
- How did you do with living out what we talked about last time we met?
Open with prayer and invite God to be part of your conversation and relationship.
LEARNING
The majority of the group discussion is devoted to open dialogue, reflecting on God’s Word and its personal application to each of our lives (approx. 60-75 min).
Scripture References from Message: Genesis 12:1-3, 15:1-18; Exodus 19:3-6; 2 Samuel 7:12-16; Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Peter 2:9-10
Big Idea from Message: God's answer to humanity’s problem a people made new.
A covenant in the Bible is more than a legal contract. It is a binding promise between two parties, but at its heart it is deeply relational. In covenant, lives are joined together so that the faithfulness, thriving, and even struggles of one are tied to the other. How does a covenant reveal God’s heart to bind Himself to people for their good and His glory?
God called Abram to go and promised to bless all families through him. Where do you see Abram believing God with action, and where do you see messiness and doubt in his story? What does this teach you about practicing trust even when your obedience is imperfect?
At Sinai God formed a people to be a treasured possession, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. In practical terms, what would it look like for your group to live as God’s distinct people in your city this week, rather than blending into the old creation story around you?
God promised David a house and a throne that would stand forever. How does this promise prepare our hearts to meet Jesus as the Son who reigns? Where do you need to submit a part of life to His kingship rather than trying to keep God close only when it is useful?
At the table Jesus said, This is my blood of the covenant. How does communion help you move from knowing about God’s promise to living as a covenant person day by day? What concrete change does His faithful love call you to make this week?

LIVING
The challenge for the week ahead is to grow in our faith and lovingly hold each other accountable through the community.
Practice the promise. Choose one deliberate act that reflects covenant faithfulness. Keep a promise you have delayed, reconcile with someone you have avoided, serve a person who cannot repay you, or take one step of obedience God has already made clear. Each day pray, Lord, make me a person who lives Your new creation life today.
